I own a Piaggio MP3 and Dowleys is the only place locally which can MOT it (because of the 3 wheels). For the past 3 years they have provided a polite, excellent service. They have a professional but friendly approach and the customer waiting area is clean with free coffee/tea, Wi-Fi and TV. What more do you need?Brilliant. Heartily recommended. BTW, they also sell cars.
I booked my Saab 9-3 in with them on Tuesday (17/10/2018) as I suspected it had a leaking fuel injector (the fault appeared immediately after four refurbished fuel injectors were previously fitted by another garage when my clutch was replaced). I supplied four new injectors for them to fit so the job could be completed the same day and less hassle for them i.e. ordering the parts/waiting time. I also supplied a detailed email which described the symptoms the car was suffering from and recent parts which had been replaced to try and make it as easy as possible for the 'mechanic' to try and diagnose the fault if he didn't suspect a leaking injector, but like I said earlier the fault appeared immediately after the refurbished fuel injectors had previously been fitted so it's a no-brainer that would be the first thing to look at and 99.9% the cause. However after not looking at my car until 2 hours before the close of business they informed me the battery was "unstable" and it ''looked small"!!! It was brand new, the voltage checked by myself, it is perfectly fine and the correct spec.The next day I had to chase them several times to ask when my car would be ready and they finally admitted about 3pm it would not be ready until the following week because they hadn't even started to work on it!. I suspect they were working on other cars and just leaving my car until they could be bothered to start work on it.My wife took her Hyundai i20 to be diagnosed by there diagnosis machine the previous week because the ABS light would randomly come on and then disappear. They said there was no fault stored and everything was ok. After my wife talked to a work colleague about it her husband (mechanic) diagnosed the fault as the rear ABS sensor was faulty using his laptop (diagnosis software installed used for work).I guess if you want a proper job done seek out professionals who KNOW what there talking about and not a garage who THINK what there talking about.Stay clear if you want your car repaired this year!!!!!!

I took my Pembleton 3wheeler in to have a petrol leak investigated. The mechanic was most helpful and the receptionist simply charming. Whilst the leak was fixed at my home I will certainly take the car back to Dowleys for an MOT when due. It was a pleasure visiting them.
